About me

I started my career in startups, focusing on the e-commerce and auto sectors then moved to bigger companies, mostly in the financial sector. Throughout my career of 12+years focused on developing web applications using Java stack.

I loved working for startups where there was enough freedom to experiment, learn and implement solutions using the latest open-source web technologies. At the same time startups were less tolerant of failures. The early part of my career taught me the importance of learning constantly and of hard work.

The financial industry is very unique compared to other industries. I discovered that customers were very sensitive about their banking/financial experience. This industry has taught me how to apply due diligence in the day-to-day activities.

I like to be involved in design and development of challenging projects. In SDLC, the part that interests me the most is coding. Professionally I've coded mostly in Java. Out of office, I like to code scripting in languages like PHP and python. Recently, I tried my hands on kotlin which is awesome to code.

Off-work, I love being outdoors. For that reason, spring to fall are the best seasons. Camping is one-way. I try to be outdoors. Recently I have been trying my hands-on carpentry and gardening.

My recent projects for a bank was to analyze, design and develop features of web applications using some of the following technologies: Java/J2EE, Spring framework, Spring security, Apache httpd. My low key skills are, JSP, Servlets, Struts, Stripes, XML, HTML, JSON, YAML, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Sybase 11, MySQL, BIRT, Jasper,Unix, Mac, Windows,Spring. Eclipse IDE, CVS, VSS, SVN, Apache Tomcat, RSA, VERID. I have also gained very good experience in security aspects of web applications, in areas such as Authentication & Authorization, designing solutions web application vulnerabilities.

My most important objective at this moment is to grow as a leader. I have great aspirations to broaden my influence and impact the market in a more powerful way through transformational leadership, empowering fellow IT professionals to become the best they can be.
